Origins are generally mob-based sets of abilities that change how players experience the game. Each Origin has strengths and weaknesses that try to maintain good balance and not create anything too overpowered or underpowered. Canonically, they are humanoid races with many different backgrounds and cultures that may still live on in the different Minecraft dimensions. There are 13 different Origins that come premade in this datapack, but most abilities are structured so that players can create their own Origins as well. See Add-Ons for more details.

All of the Origins listed below are inspired by the Origins Mod and some player created add-ons, but NOT all abilities are the exact same. Notably, the Phantom, Feline, Inchling, and Shulk have had their major abilities changed due to datapack limitations. Other abilities that required the use of a primary or secondary key have mostly been adapted to use in-game features instead, and some abilities involving items have been changed as well.
The Origins added to this datapack are the following:
Peaceful bird-like creatures that may be part-chicken? They live a vegetarian lifestyle and find calm in the cool breeze of high altitudes.
Fiery beings from the Nether. They lost their ability to fly long ago, but they still find inner-strength in flames.
Little fuzzy buzzy critters that remember how to float around once in the air, but don't have the strength to fly upwards. Be careful when they're angry, they might sting you!
Ancient, wise beings who still have their wings and knowledge of chestplate making, but are frail and don't have the strength to wield heavy armor in their old age.
Beings with Ender ancestry who cannot anger their fellow Enderman and still hate water. It's too bad they didn't retain their ancestors stature.
Agile creatures that pounce in the night, jumping high as they sprint towards their prey. Just like a cat, they have nine lives and survive on a pescatarian diet.
Small, hyper critters that go into a panic at low health and can't figure out how to hold a shield up with their paws.
A classic experience void of powers or supposed side effects. Their true ability is knowing, or rather thinking, that they are the best and smartest.
Tiny buggers that bounce around with moon-like gravity and are constantly in a sugar rush. Definitely the most annoying roommates to have.
Aquatic creatures that move in the water unlike any other with their gills and seemingly hidden fins. They can even breathe in the rain, but not on land.
